Photographs of the setting up of the Sydney Basin Aboriginal Tent Embassy in Victoria Park, Camperdown, Gadigal Land on the 2nd of November, 2024.
The Embassy was initially set up along the eastern side of the park adjacent to City Road in response to the visit by the British and Australian monarchs, Charles and Camilla. After 3 days, the camp, including the sacred fire, was moved to the western side of the park, where previous Aboriginal Tent Embassies have been located.
The Embassy is demanding sovereignty for First Nations peoples, a stop to genocide and land back.
