COVID-19 Diaries: Sanitary Workers at Bondi Beach

As warmer spring weather descends on Sydney, beach-goers in Sydney’s eastern suburbs will find it increasingly difficult to resist the cool waters and warm sunshine during the city’s second COVID-19 lockdown.

The Delta variant - which originally spread across NSW from Bondi - has seen cases dramatically rise over the last two weeks. As the virus leaks into the state’s rural and regional areas, there are fears that authorities are losing control over the virus.

There were 390 new coronavirus cases today and 2 deaths.
