A Bondi apartment block has been put under police lockdown since last week, as five households within the complex were infected with COVID-19. The quick spread of the virus has been put down to the potency of the Delta strain currently hitting Sydney and Melbourne. The block has been cordoned off with a 24-hour police watch to ensure residents do not breach the lockdown, which will last until next week.
